UTM set to sell a message of hope to people in the Northern region

Leader of United Transformation Movement-UTM Dr. Saulosi Chilima is expected to hold whistle-stop tours in a number of places in the northern region this weekend.

Among other places, Dr. Chilima who is also State Vice-President, is expected to hold the whistle-stop-tours at Jenda trading centre in Mzimba this Friday.

Speaking in an interview with VoL on Thursday, UTM’s Deputy Publicity Secretary, Bon Kalindo said, during his stay in the region, Dr. Chilima is expected to hold political rallies in Chitipa and Karonga districts this weekend.

Meanwhile, Kalindo says the regional elections UTM has been conducting are part of its preparations ahead of its national Convention slated for 8 December at a yet-to-be-announced venue.

Mzuzu City Member of Parliament-MP Leonard Njikho is now UTM Regional Governor for the North after defeating Aficki Mbewe, who was the Acting Regional Governor in elections held on Wednesday in Mzuzu where Njikho amassed 68 votes while Mbewe had 47 votes from 115 delegates.
